Description

This course provides an overview of the field of social work and the profession of social work. It characterizes persons having needs and illustrates how these needs and illustrates how these needs are met or unmet through social welfare institutions. This course provides an historical development, mission, values and ethics of the social work profession. It defines generalist practice and the methods used in working with individuals, families, groups, and communities. Prerequisite: Sophomore.
