Description

This course is for students who wish to write fiction and to do so with an awareness of fiction's role in social justice issues. Students will study the relationship between cultural events, literary conventions, and narrative creation. While students become familiar with the cultural place of fiction, they will be writing and analyzing fiction of their own. Students will be encouraged both to write from personal experience and situate their writing in relation to current events that require immediate action. This course will include workshop, readings, lecture, and work with surrounding communities. Prerequisite: ENGL 2343.
