Description
This course is a continuation of CHEM 2423. Topics covered inslude the chemistry of ketones, aldeydes, corboxylic acids and amides; aromatics, polymers, Diels-Alder Reation, electrophilic aromatic substitution organic sythesis, protecting groups, Aldol Reactions, Michael Reaction, Claisen Reaction, amino acids and proteins, Nomenclature of aromatic and carbonyl compounds will be covered. Three hours of lecture per week. Prerequisite: CHEM 2423. Co-requisite: CHEM 2025.
